Christmas in July!

I don't know what my problem is. I've been craving Christmas like crazy lately. I'm listening to Christmas music, watching the Christmas in July specials on QVC, and watching Christmas DVD's. I'm going crazy! I just love that time of year. I love all of our little family traditions. I miss the snow! I wish it were Christmas now!

Rockin the Replica

Check out little Lane totally picking his nose! AHHHHHHH!

My sister in law and I decided to take our kids to the Fort hall replica. I was so proud of the kids. They sat there and listened to the tour guide intently. The replica looks and smells the same as it did when I was a kid. No really it looks and smells the same. We had a fun day together. Now I'm just nursing my sunburn that I got;)

My Grandma Brockway

I cant get my Grandma Brockway out of my mind. Maybe she is here with me today. I can still remember her voice , her laugh, her smell the way she chewed gum and drank diet Pepsi from a can with a straw. I miss my Grandma this morning. She has been gone for ten years now. And I still miss her. When I was sixteen Grandma moved in with us. Grandpa died six years before. They were so in love. It was hard to see Grandma with out her best Friend and lover. If you have ever read The Notebook or seen the movie that was my Grandparents. They had so much passion for each other. I didn't really know my Grandparents to well. They lived in Salam Oregon. We saw them once a year. But I still loved them. Six years after Grandpa died Grandma started showing signs of dementia (Alzheimer's). It as hard having Grandma live with us. It took a lot out of our family. It took everything out of my Mom. It was hard to see such a smart woman fade away, to loose her dignity. It was sad to have to reminder her that Grandpa was gone. I hope she knew how much I loved her. Even though sometimes she thought I was the neighbor girl down the street. I feel guilty. I should have payed more attention to her. I was a selfish teenager and couldn't see beyond myself. It was a rough four years with Grandma. My poor mother never had a break. I remember her last Christmas with us. She was physically there. But an empty shell was all that was left of that woman. She was sick and dying. A combination of dementia and tongue and throat cancer made her weak. Fourteen days later we gathered around as a family in my grandmas little room down the hall and my Dad and brothers gave her a blessing. My Mom whispered in her ear to go with Grandpa if he came for her. That night Grandma passed away from this life into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father. She was finally reunited with her sweet heart. I am grateful for the experience of having her in our home. It was the hardest most wonderful thing in the world. I love you Grandma. I cant wait to see you again.

Minnetonta Cave;)

We took our kids to Minnetonka caves this weekend. We've lived hear our whole lives and have never been there before. The boys were so excited. The cave stays 40 degrees year round so if your thinking of going bring a jacket. It's also pretty slippery in the caves too so make sure you hold on to the bars and wear shoes you don't care about. It was really interesting and fun too. We had a 16 year old kid do our tour. He did a pretty good job but he took his job way to seriously. Lane was kind of heckling the poor little guy. The funniest part of the trip was when the kid started singing in one of the caves to show how good the acoustics were. He was way into it and little Lane was laughing his head off. I had to cover up his mouth. We got a good chuckle out of it;) We had a fun fathers day weekend with our Daddy. Thank you Lane for being such a wonderful Dad.

Chalk!!!!

Last week our family decided to have a late night chalk drawing party. We decorated the driveway with random stuff;) We all had so much fun that we didn't realize how late our kids were up. I think Lane and I had more fun then the boys. It's simple memories that mean the most. Not big vacations or brand new toys. It's time with your family. And playing with your kids.

My Baby is Four!!!!!!

Takin a break.

Happy Birthday Rye!

I can't believe it's been four years! Time goes by so fast. Ryan turned four this past week and he got spoiled. We took the boys bowling and out for pizza. Then we took Ryan to Walmart to pick out a bike. Of course he picked the red bike. (His favorite Color). We also took the boys on a hike up Gibson Jack. We had a great time. The weather was perfect. We are so grateful for our Ryan. He is so sweet and he keeps us on our toes. We love you Rye Happy Birthday!
