2009 SLC 1/2 Marathon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My #1 fan and President of the Lane Marley Fan Club!

This is my friend Clay Smith he also ran the 1/2 marathon.

I did it! I finished the Salt Lake City Half Marathon! I beat my old time by 5 minutes for a time of 2:05:19! The weather was perfect, the race started at 7:00 AM with a temperature of about 45 degrees there were 4125 participants I ended up 1797th place. The course was pretty flat and fast with plenty of room on the road for all participants. The race started at the Olympic bridge over by the University of Utah and ended at the Gateway mall. It was a great feeling to run around the corner and see the finish line 200 yards ahead of me, this gave me a feeling of accomplishment to see tons of people there to cheer me on! At the end of the race it took me nearly 20 minutes to find Serena or should I say it took her 20 minutes to find me! This was a great opportunity to get ready for the Pocatello full Marathon! I have a lot of work to do before September 5th!

Spring has sprung!!!!!

With the arrival of spring comes yard work. Lane has been dying to get his hands dirty since November. We have a portion of our yard that needs landscaping. We sure have our work cut out for us.
The boys love all the dirt that they get to play with.

Adventures in Salt Lake.

Last week was Laney's spring break . My cousin got married so we decided it would be the perfect opportunity to take the boys on a mini vacation. Lane took Friday off and we took off for Utah. We had some fun adventures with the boys over the weekend. We made some fun family memories together. We hope you enjoy our pics.
We took the boys to the Clark Planetarium . They had some fun displays for the boys to explore. We also took the boys to a dome show called Black Holes. It was really cool and interesting too. Lane is a little concerned that our sun will die and turn into a black hole now. I think we scared him a little.

The boys at the planetarium.
THANKSGIVING POINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We took the boys to Thanksgiving point. They had an awesome dinosaur museum. We had so much fun there and recommend it to anyone. We spent quite alot of time there and the boys are hooked on dinosaurs now.

They had this table where the kids could play in water and sand and make there own prehistoric landscape . It was hard to pull the boys away form this table.
T-Rex! Poor Laney he was so excited to see it, and was so freaked out when he finally did. He had nightmares all night.

Triceratops!
This is one of the sea turtles that they had a the exhibit. The thing was huge. The boys were so amazed.

Talk about Jaws. This the size that sharks were during dinosaur times. Wow.

This is Lane hunting for mammoths. We were hungry. I think Lane blends in nicely.

Here is my caveman.
This is how I feel when I step on one of Little Lanes Lego's!!!!! This is one of the displays at the museum. This guy is trying to hunt. I'm glad that we have walmart.

At the museum they had an area for the kids to dig for dinosaur's! The boys were really into it. They had so much fun playing in the sand and exploring in a new environment. It was really fun to see there little minds learning new things.

Here are the boys digging for dinosaur bones. They had a ball finding a stegosaurus berried in the sand.
Here is Ryan digging for dinosaur bones! He was so excited and is still talking about it.
Footloose baby!!! I had always heard that the movie Footloose was filmed in Utah. I was also told that the prom scene in the movie was filmed in a real mill in Lehi. Well good fortune was smiling down on me this weekend. Our hotel happened to be just across the street. Yippee!!

Well here we are in Salt Lake City sharing a room with our kids! Serena is in the hot tub and I'm watching the kids fight instead of going to bed. Pretty funny to watch Ryan pick on Lane while he is just about asleep! Well the day is about over and I'm beat! We took the boys to Temple Square today! The flowers are already starting to bloom! We sure have spring fever! Here is a picture of the boys at the temple. More will follow......

A Lerechaun's Picnic!

Lane had a Leprechaun's picnic at school for St. Patty's day. I was volunteered to make 44 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches shaped like shamrocks for Lanes class. I was a little overwhelmed that I had such a donating task ahead, but the work was made light when my friend Anna Banana volunteered to help. It actually went really quickly. We were in stitches laughing about the silly things we did as kids while we made the sandwiches. Thanks Anna!!! Everyone in the class was able to change there name for the day so it would sound more Irish. Lane had to pick between O'lane or Mac'Lane. He chose O'lane. He had alot of fun and even came home looking like a leprechaun.

Daddy's Birthday Suprise!

For Lane's Birthday the boys and I wanted to make it extra special. So the boys painted wooden cars for him and I bought him a picture from deseret book that he has been wanting for years. (The one of George Washington kneeling in prayer). We started off the the day by making Daddy pancakes for breakfast. Later on that day the boys and I took cheese cake to him at the bank to share with his co-workers. We also decorated his car. We had a really fun time making Lanes b-day memorable.

Lane had to work on his Birthday so we took the boys to the bowling ally on Saturday. We were having so much fun. I was taking pictures of our boys bowling. Until one of the old ladies from the bowling leagues who was bowling in a tournament complained about the flash from our camera. She thought it was messing up her game. What and old stick in the mud. These are the few pictures I was able to take before we were shut down!

This is a video of the boys giving there Daddy his birthday presents!
