2010 Pocatello Marathon!

The 2010 Pocatello Marathon has come and gone for another year. This year the weather was a little cooler. At this point I was so glad to see the finish line! 26.2 miles was about all that I could take. I had a great time and am looking forward to taking a couple days off before hitting the road again!
My SUPER HOT WIFEY SERENA was waiting for me at the finish line. I can't believe she wanted to hug me. I stunk so bad I could smell myself! That is true love! Love ya Babe!

Laney and Ryan were there as well. They had a great time listening to the local band and running around. The boys wanted to know if I was feeling OK. I asked why? Laney said, " Dad not to be rude or anything, but you look like crap!" Kids are freaking awesome! They just tell it like it is!

Me and my buddy Trent. This was his first marathon! He did awesome! He called me later that afternoon to tell me that he was so sore he couldn't move. I got the call just after I finished puking in the Applebees bathroom. All I have to say is WOW I must have drank a lot of blue Power Ade!

My Fan Club! I love my sweet wife and boys! You guys rock! I can't wait to do this again! But for now I'm gonna sit back and chill for a day or two.

Idaho Falls Chukars Game

On Monday night Laney and I went to the Idaho Falls Chukars game. It was AWESOME! We left Mom and Ryan at home and had a night out! First we went to Jack In the Box and got a bite to eat. Then we headed off to the ball park. Laney brought a brand new baseball with him so he could get it signed by the players. He was so excited to see the ball players up close and talk with them.
During the seventh inning stretch Laney was chosen to race the mascot around the bases. He was so excited. The crowd was cheering him on and he was running hard and as fast as he could. Laney won the race. For a prize they gave him a fishing rod! Laney was so excited because now he could give the fishing pole to his little brother. I was so touched that he wasn't thinking of himself, but of his brother who didn't have a fishing pole.
Laney told me that he has always wanted a giant foam finger, so we went to the gift shop and found him one. During the game Laney was standing up cheering for the home team and booing the away team. I was so proud!! There is nothing better than watching a ball game with your big boy! I can't wait for football season!
In the end the Chukars lost 3-5. However, we had a great time! We did learn a valuable lesson....bring a blanket because 60 degrees is freaking cold! Can't wait till football season to get started!

Forgiveness

Ryan got this from church last week. They had a lesson of forgiveness. I having hanging on my fridge. Its a good reminder that weather we are forgiving something someone did against us or we are forgiving ourselves for our own flaws or asking forgiveness from others or our Father in Heaven we must always remember to forgive no matter how hard it is! (D&C 64:10) "I the Lord, will forgive whom I will forgive, but of you it is required to forgive all men."
I am totally imperfect and have many flaws. I hope I can be forgiven of all my wrongs.

Chubbuck Days!

Every year they have Chubbuck days! Such fun childhood memories for Lane and I. My Mom is Like Miss Chubbuck and we were always involved in the whole Chubbuck days planing. Thank goodness we don't have to do that anymore! We took the kids to the parade With there cousins. We had so much fun passing along traditions from our childhood to our kids;) Cant wait for next year;)

Thoughts at the bottom of a Beanstalk

Two years ago when Laney was in Kindergarten his teacher Mrs. Spiker read this story to all the Moms leaving there kids off for the first time. But when I read it I think it relates to everything new you and your child go through as they grow. I cry every time I read it. Enjoy!

Once upon a time there was a little boy named Jack who was about to climb his very first beanstalk. He had a fresh haircut and brand-new book bag.
Even though his friends in the neighborhood had climbed this same beanstalk almost every day last year, this was Jack's first day and he was a little nervous. So was his Mother.
Early in the morning she brought him to the foot of the beanstalk. She talked encouragingly to Jack about all the fun he would have that day and how nice his giant would be. She reassured him that she would be back to pick him up at the end of the day. For a moment they stood together, silently holding hands, gazing up at the beanstalk. To Jack it seemed much bigger than it had when his mother had pointed it out on the way to the store last week. His mother thought it looked big, too. She swallowed. Maybe she should have held Jack out a year.
Jack's Mother straightened his shirt one last time, patted his shoulder and smiled down at him. She promised to stay and wave while he stated climbing. Jack didn't say a word.
He walked forward, grabbed a low-growing stem and slowly pulled himself up to the first leaf. He balanced there for a moment and then climbed more eagerly to the second leaf, then to the third and soon he had vanished into a high tangle of leaves and stems with never a backward glance at his Mother.
She stood alone at the bottom of the beanstalk, gazing up at the spot where Jack had disappeared. There was no rustle, no movement, and no sound to indicate that he was anywhere inside.
"Sometimes" she thought, "it's harder to be the one who waves goodbye than it is to be the one who climbs the beanstalk."
She wondered how Jack would do. Would he miss her? How would he behave? Did his giant understand that little boys sometimes acted silly when they felt unsure? She fought down and urge to spring up the stalk after Jack and maybe duck behind a bean to take a peek at how he was doing.
"I'd better not. What if he saw me?" She knew Jack was really old enough to handle this on his own. She reminded herself that after all, this was thought to be and excellent beanstalk and that everyone said his giant was not only kind but had outstanding qualifications.
"It's not so much that I'm worried about him," she thought, rubbing the back of her neck. "It's just that he's growing up and I'm going to miss him."
Jack's Mother turned to leave "Jack's going to have lots of bigger beanstalks to climb in his life" she told herself.
"Today's the day he starts practicing for them.... And today's the day I start practicing something too; cheering him on and waving goodbye."

All I ever wanted

All I've ever wanted to be was a Mom. From my earliest memories I would carry around a baby doll and pretend to be a Mommy. Whenever anyone would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up the answer was always "A Mom". When Lane and I got married we started our family when we were only married a month. I always knew my calling was to be a mom. I am so grateful for my two sweet boys. I love them more then life its self. I would climb a mountain for them, take away all there sorrows and pain, I would walk across fire for them, they are my world. It still amazes me that Father in Heaven would trust me with these to special spirits. I feel I don't deserve such a precious gift. Lane and I have been trying to add to our family for quite a while now. It's been heart breaking to see month after month turn into a year. It's been frustrating for Dr's. to tell me they don't know. It's been hard to watch others be blessed when I am not. My pain has been real. I never knew this kind of heartache in my life. Loads of tears, prayers and blessings have numbed me at times. But I know that my Father in Heaven has a plan for me. I know that he has his own time table. He knows me more then I know myself. I am in his hands. Sometimes its hard to let go of the wheel and let him guide you through. Even as I type this my sweet Ryan is on my lap snuggling me and telling me how much he loves me. I will never look at that family in church and think to myself why they don't have kids. Or why do they only have 1 or 2. I feel like I can sympathise with people who have dealt with this for much longer then I have. My heart goes out to you. So weather or not I am blessed with another child I will forever be grateful for what I have. And everyday I will thank my Father for the two special gifts he is lending me.

Laney, Lane , and Aaron

Lei Lei ,and RyanWe took the kids to Cherry Springs to do a little fishing. Laney has been asking to go all summer. So we dusted off the fishing poles and went with my brothers family for a fishing night. The kids were so excited. Ryan caught the first fish of the night. He caught this freaky looking dinosaur fish thing:0 It wiggled on it's hook and Ryan and I both let out screams. Laney also caught a fish. He got a little Brooke trout. His fish also wiggled on its hook too. Lane (Daddy) also screamed. We had a wonderful time with our little family;)
